About Matheson Door Hardware Co.
Mississauga holds one of the largest concentrations of warehouse floor space in the country, and almost all of it sits within a few minutes of Pearson. That single fact shapes most of what we do. The man-door beside a dock on Dixie Road gets pushed open by someone carrying a scanner in one hand and a coffee in the other, several hundred times a shift, and the closer on it lives about as long as the frame somebody screwed it into.
Matheson Door Hardware Co. works only on that hardware — closers, exit devices, hold-opens, floor springs, power operators. We are not a locksmith van with a closer rattling around in the back, and we do not take general repairs. The narrowness is the point: it is what lets us look at forty rated doors in a Cooksville apartment block in an afternoon and say which need a valve turned and which need the unit off the wall.
The work splits roughly three ways. Industrial and logistics buildings through Malton, Dixie and the Airport Road corridor, where cycle count kills a closer long before age does. Corporate lobbies and glass entrances around Sheridan Park and City Centre, where the closer is buried in the floor or the transom and nobody knows it exists until the door stops centring. And the older main streets in Port Credit, Streetsville and Clarkson, where a 1970s aluminum entrance still carries its original hardware and every replacement has to suit a prep that somebody cut by hand.
We quote after we have looked, in writing, with the scope fixed. If a door only needs adjusting we say so and adjust it — there is no version of this trade where selling you a closer you did not need makes sense, because the next building you manage is the reference we want.
Why Mississauga property owners trust us
- Closers, exit devices and operators only — no general handyman work
- Hardware sized for cycle count, not just door width, on high-traffic industrial openings
- Concealed and floor-spring entrances handled, not only the visible surface box
- Rated doors walked building-wide, with the corrections written down for your file
- One fixed-scope written estimate before anything comes off the door
Insured & WSIB-covered
We carry full liability insurance and WSIB coverage, and the certificates go to your property management office before anyone is on site. Ontario issues no provincial trade licence for door hardware, so we will never show you a number that does not exist — what we will show you is the insurance, the WSIB clearance, and a rated door that closes and latches on its own.
